We're adding 2 New Events to our Competitions!

We are excited to announce two new events that we are adding to our competitions in 2025! One of our goals is to help young twirlers develop the skills to twirl in college and we are excited to give Middle School & High School students the chance to develop this unique style.

The first event is a Down The Field event.  In this event, twirlers will start on the judge's left or near the left side of the competition area.  Twirlers will then move forward to the center of the competition area as if they are leading their band or team onto the field or in the parade.  Once twirlers reach the center, they will perform feature tricks for 10-15 seconds that demonstrate their best and favorite tricks. After the feature tricks are completed, twirler will proceed to the end of the competition area with forward movement.

Twirlers will perform to the Notre Dame Fight Song.

Twirlers will perform one at a time.

Twirlers can use one baton and the baton must be in the twirler's hand at all times.

Gymnastics can be incorporated into routine.

Judging captions will be Forward Movement, Feature Tricks, Showmanship, Bodywork & Smoothness. We are working on the score sheet and will share that soon!

I recruited my student, Addison, to learn a quick routine to demonstrate what this event would look like and you can take a look here:

The second event is School Fight Song event.  In this event, twirlers will create a routine that could be performed at their pep fest, pre-game and post game festivities.  This routine should include both feature and fast twirling meant to impress a close crowd.

Twirlers will perform to the Notre Dame Fight Song.

Multiple twirlers can compete at the same time but will perform for one judge.

Gymnastics can be incorporated into the routine.

Twirlers can use one baton or multiple batons.

Judging captions will be Feature Tricks, Showmanship, Bodywork, Smoothness & Creativity. We are working on the score sheet and will share that soon.

We are excited for these new events to inspire our next generation of college twirlers!
